As the year passes she develops confidence in her decisions helped out by spirit guides along the way. Morningstar Angeline gives a beautiful performance as a young Indigenous woman struggling with whether to follow her heart or care for her family. Featuring an all star cast of great Indigenous performers – Morningstar Angeline (Longmire), Andrew Martin (Fire Song), Gail Maurice (Barkskins, The Rez), Billy Merasty (Indian Horse), Gary Farmer (Blood Quantum, Dead Man), Vance Banzo (Indian Horse), Ajuwak Kapasheit (Indian Horse) and Roseanne Supernault (Rhymes For Young Ghouls).

The Incredible 25th Year of Mitzi Bearclaw has been in the making for many years,” says filmmaker Shelley Niro. “I wanted it to look at Indigenous Reserve life on a comical level. At the same time, I wanted it to be a realistic view. Mitzi Bearclaw is a young woman about to start her journey pursuing a creative path. – Shelley Niro  (Art Gallery of Ontario)
