Aaron Sorkin teaches daughter to defend against sexual predators

Molly's Game director Aaron Sorkin and daughter RoxyGiven the current climate in Hollywood, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is teaching his daughter how to defend herself from sexual predators.

The Molly's Game director told The Hollywood Reporter that he showed her a Three Stooges short to teach her how to go for the eyes.

Sorkin’s daughter responded by saying she shouldn’t have to learn to defend herself, but that men should finally learn to not assault women.

"I told her, 'you are 100 per cent right, but until all the men who have to change, change, I want you to scream your lungs out,'" Sorkin said.

Sorkin has supported the women who have come forward about their experiences with sexual assault in the industry, and has been a strong supporter of Jessica Chastain’s advocacy on behalf of victims.

Chastain said, "It’s a very scary thing to be a women in the industry where men are making the rules and stick your neck out and say, ‘I don’t care. I’m going to defend these victims and amplify their voices." She continued: "Aaron Sorkin was the only person in the industry who sent me an email. It said, 'There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not proud to know you.'" ~Hayley Michaud

The Feminist Chant of “Teach Men to not rape”, makes as much sense as “Teach Muslims to not be Terrorist” or “Teach Black People to not be criminals” or "Teach Women to not be manipulative". When you Lump up entire groups of people, and assume they are criminals from the start, it’s harmful to them, It’s harmful to society as a whole. That’s how you create enemies, they will not be open to anything you say. Hence the reason, so many people (Men and Women) have a dislike for Feminism. There are bad people out there, Men and Women, and it’s important to know how to protect yourself against them. I don’t know why it’s considered offensive to teach women to defend themselves. I would think it would be only to their advantage.

I'm a father of a beautiful little girl and better believe it, I will be teaching her self defense! This was decided long before all these sexual assault allegations. Self defense is just one part of it. You need to teach her how to recognize subtle hints of misconduct and how to speak up immediately about the overt sexual actions and comments as well.
