Chris Evans blasts Donald Trump for being a 'moron'

Published By Tribute on Aug 03, 2017

Chris EvansChris Evans, best known for his role as Marvel superhero Captain America, which he reprises in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, recently took to Twitter to vent his frustrations with current American President, Donald Trump.

Chris tweeted that Trump is a "reckless moron" and shared a speech given by the U.S. President last week to a group of police officers in a New York suburb. During the speech, Trump insinuated that police don't need to put their hands on the top of prisoners's heads to protect them when putting them in the back of a police car, saying: "When you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon. You see them thrown in rough. I said, 'Please don't be too nice. Like, don't hit their head and they've just killed somebody. I said, 'You can take the hand away, OK?'"

This prompted the Suffolk County Police Department to respond saying, "As a department, we do not and will not tolerate 'rough(ing)' up prisoners." It also prompted backlash from the public and, apparently, a reaction from Chris Evans.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders later said during a briefing that Trump's remarks were a "joke."

But, clearly, many aren't laughing. And Chris is not alone in his displeasure with Trump's comments as other Twitter users responded to Chris' tweet with the same sentiment. One user replied, saying, "I am still shaking my head thinking that a man like that is in power. He is a low life." Another said, "He wasn’t joking. He's encouraged violence against citizens many times before, including at his own rallies."

I'm glad Chris Evans says it like it is. It's about time.🤓

So, so, disappointed in Chris Evans. He was a favorite of mine until a few years ago when I first read his SJW gibberish. And that would be okay except he's turned me off Captain America. I see Cap now and I'm repulsed.

@DG and you are not disappointed in the POTUS? I think what an actor says means little when compared to the actual influence and power wielded by the POTUS

Mr. Evans (and other assorted Hollywood Elites), we, the public, are fed up with your virtue signalling. And for goodness sake, go and see a shrink, if you can't get over the Clinton loss.

@Gareth No I'm not disappointed in President Trump. Sure, he's the Babe Ruth of presidents, he swings and misses a lot, but his homers are spectacular, hits no one else would ever try to make. I am disappointed that too many people around him have forgotten how imperative it is to a democracy that even the most disappointed losers get behind the winner for the sake of the country.

A simple 'actor' or not, he's right. Isn't it supposed to be 'innocent until proven guilty'? Evans is 100% correct in that the President has clearly incited violence quite often. So, the Police (public employees to serve and protect) are already under a lot of heat for their apparent brutality, but to basically tell them to not protect the head of a -possible- criminal while placing them in the cruiser, is a bad bad statement. The police already have adrenaline pumping in them and if they smack the head of someone they are arresting, it leaves marks and can possibly cause serious damage to someone who frankly could even be totally innocent! But, that being said, if I caught someone in the act of raping a woman or abusing a child, I might happen to forget to cover their head when placing them in the cruiser....But that's not because Trump basically said it's ok.

@DG, The "Babe Ruth of Presidents"?!! Man, what have you been smoking? Please do not dis-honour the memory of one of the greatest Baseball players, in that manner. I agree , he swings and misses a lot - like every time!! Home-runs?? As far as I'm concerned the best he's done so far to use a baseball analogy) is tap it back to the pitcher. What has he done in his first 6 months that you would classify as "spectacular"? Right now, the American people would be happy with just "OK". It's not imperative for people to blindly follow a leader as you're suggesting - that's Fascism. That's the same attitude that prevailed in Germany in the 1930's - how did that work out? The beauty of democracy is that you can disagree or voice our opinion when you witness something that is wrong, without fear of recrimination. Based on his track record of swings and misses, if Trump was an Intern on his own show , he would be one of the first one's "Fired".

Doesn't matter if Chris Evans is a recognizable actor! He says it as it is and has every right like you or me to speak his mind. Good for him speaking up - not enough people and especially actors...!! If tables were turned and Chris Evans said the same thing, everyone would blast him in the news. Let's get priorities straight people. Violence cannot be tolerated or promoted even if it's a joke. Trump is supposed to be President.

AL in Toronto, you're the one that should see a shrink! To support a Orange-faced moron like 45, you're just enabling a big whiner and a p*ssy-grabbing liar who will sink to new lows as this administration has proven, day after day, for the last six months. If you like him that much, there's a plane leaving tomorrow and don't bother coming back! I guess we all know where your moral compass points!

Chris tweeted that Trump is a “reckless moron...it about time somebody said what need to be said trump is the worst president ever and cant take any comments in any way shape or form, trump shouldn't tell cops how to do their job as their dealing with dangerous people that have no regards for the law or people life's, so people shouldn't trash Chris Evans their looking at the wrong person it the leader of the free world that need to be put in his place and I'm glad somebody like Chris isn't afraid to say it
