Cuba Gooding Jr. to turn himself over to police today

Cuba Gooding Jr. in American Crime Story (2015)Cuba Gooding Jr. has announced that he plans to turn himself over to the NYPD Special Victims Division today (Thursday, June 13, 2019) in relation to claims that he groped a woman.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday night at a Manhattan nightclub. An unidentified woman called police to report that Gooding, who was "highly intoxicated" at the time, grabbed her breast at about 9 p.m. at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge.

According to the New York Post, the woman immediately objected, which led to an argument with Gooding, which was then broken up by security. Security video shows that Gooding left the club soon after.

In a video posted on TMZ, Gooding, who was at LAX boarding a plane for New York, denied that he'd groped anyone and when asked if he was guilty, he replied, "No. Absolutely not," adding, "I trust the system." ~Alexandra Heilbron

Let me guess what she said after she recognized Cuba after, " Show me the money !"

OF COURSE he will say he didn't!!!!!!!!!! People who sexually grab other people are also liars......who knew?? And WHY does he get to turn himself in?? Did she press charges? Other people get arrested, they don't have the luxury of DECIDING to turn themselves in. Why are there two or more sets of standards --- one for the general public & one for monied or famous people??

Just fyi, Anyone can turn themselves in. If you have a lawyer, you can do it through them, but even without one, you can just go to any station or even most officers, assuming they aren't on a current call. It just looks a lot better and saves the authorities the need to waste resources locating and arresting him.

Cyanyde...........somehow I doubt he'd be terribly hard to locate.

Given that nowhere in the article does it say that there is a warrant for his arrest, he could simply be being pro-active figuring because of who he is that the police are going to want to talk to him. None of us know if he's guilty or not and by addressing it himself voluntarily, maybe it will be resolved quicker one way or the other. It could be a case of him being an actor and thinking he can do whatever he wants or it could be a case of the woman claiming he did it because of who he is. It's not really fair to jump to either conclusion

    Well said, Debbie.

In a bar, late night, drunk and oh my a famous person. I bet the $ sign was flashing. I hope ppl doesn’t jump to conclusions. Would she be doing the same thing if it was Joe the plumber? No of coarse not. He should have known better than to put himself in this situation because there are women out there looking for the slightest thing to turn into the almighty dollar. He will probably make a settlement of some kind with her to just be done with it and that’s all she wanted to begin with.

I agree with Debbie, well said most people jump to conclusions before they know the whole story. Only time will tell what happens next.

He said she said.....we live in an age of technology so I'm sure someone has a video or photo already. Of course it's easy to blame Cuba but it could also be a set up. If it was a perfect stranger I'm sure we certainly wouldn't hear about it at all. There are more news worthy stories to read about anyway. maybe people should be more aware of their personal space and stay a little more sober.Just sayin....m

He, like everybody else, is innocent until proven guilty in a COURT OF LAW.

The security footage shows that he never even touched her. It's just another case of someone trying to make a quick buck by making false claims.

Advantages of being married and not so famous is you love and respect the one you with and if he or she accuses you of groping, you guilty as charged and pay the fine whatever that is,play by the rules people!

As Nate rightly points out footage shows he never even touched he much less grabbed her breasts. SMDH. These types of fabrication by opportunistic women is so destructive to the real victims of sexual misconduct, as are people like @Terry who believe no matter what if a male is called out for sexual misconduct and he says that is not true then it must be him lying cuz no way can some predatory female even think of exploiting some sitting duck celebrity (yes I know the percentages are usually stacked the other way but fact is everyone is entitled to be assumed innocent until proven otherwise...or at least let wait to see the smoking gun before the court of public opinion hangs them)

Perhaps O.J. Simpson can return the favour and play Cuba in an American Crime Story drama...

Like I say....."ME TOO" applies to women also. Well said Debbie and Nate.
