was so much fun to watch in theaters that I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD/Blu-ray. It was great to see the film again -- there's so much going on that I was able to notice several things I hadn't seen the first time around -- and the bonus features are well worth the price.In the opening scene, Kurt Russell appears almost as young as he did while playing Dexter Riley in the 1969 Disney feature film The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes and its sequels (Now You See Him, Now You Don't in 1972 and The Strongest Man in the World in 1975). In Guardians, he plays a character named Ego who comes to Earth to plant something glowing in the soil -- as Peter Quill's mother falls in love with him. You guessed it: Kurt Russell is Peter's (Chris Pratt) father.
Next, another scene that sets up the story perfectly -- as Baby Groot dances to tunes and basically gets in the way, the Guardians fight off a dangerous beast. It's the first of many scenes in which Baby Groot, who's as adorable as anything you'll ever see, steals the movie.
Vying for next-most adorable character is Rocket, who's referred to as a "crabby puppy" by a new character -- Mantis (Canadian actress Pom Klementieff) -- who's Ego's servant/slave.

Hilarious Deleted Scenes: The clip during the credits in which Peter talks to an adolescent Groot (whom we'll likely see more of in the next Guardians movie) about his behavior gets an extended treatment. We see Ego introduce the Guardians to his planet (and we get to see what was green screen and what was real). Kraglin (Sean Gunn) shows Peter how to use an MP3 player and finally, the scene in which Mantis and Drax (Dave Bautista) talk about their past is extended.
Outrageous Gag Reel: In addition to a variety of hilarious goofs and pranks by the cast, we get to see how Yondu's (Michael Rooker) line "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!" came to be.
Guardians Inferno Music Video: This has to be seen to be believed. A pretty bad but hilarious '80s-type tune was created for David Hasselhoff and this music video shows him singing along with members of the Guardians cast, dressed to look like a super-cheesy dance band called The Sneepers. It's a lot of fun to see who shows up in the video and watch the cast let loose!
Bonus Round: The Making of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a four part, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, which includes: In the Director's Chair with James Gunn; Reunion Tour: The Music of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2; Living Planets and Talking Trees: The Visual Effects of Vol. 2 (which includes a look at how the actors visualized Baby Groot in various scenes) and Showtimes: The Cast of Vol. 2.
