A source close to Jennifer told the magazine that the star couple have called off their divorce, with Jennifer being the one to hit the pause button. "Jen has called off the divorce. She really wants to work things out with Ben. They are giving things another try," the source revealed.
Another source also confirmed the news, but insists the decision to stay together was mutual. "There is always a chance of reconciliation. They love each other. They also really, really love their kids, and those kids love their parents," they said.
Ben and Jen initially announced their separation in June of 2015, after 10 years of marriage. Despite the split, the couple remained committed to putting up a united front for the sake of their three children -- Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and five-year-old Samuel.
In July of that year, Ben relocated to Atlanta, where Jennifer was filming her movie Miracles From Heaven, to be with the kids. The family went on a vacation to the Bahamas together later that month.
Meanwhile, speculation concerning the cause of the split began to spread. In August, rumors of Ben's alleged affair with their former nanny made headlines everywhere. Jennifer and Ben separately denied the allegations, and still remained cordial, even spending the holidays together in Montana.
In her March 2016 cover story for Vanity Fair, Jennifer candidly spoke about their relationship for the first time since the separation.
"He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous," the actress said. "He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, 'When his sun shines on you, you feel it.' But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow."
The couple began dating a year after co-starring together in Marvel's superhero flick, Daredevil in 2003. Quickly dubbed "Bennifer 2," (Affleck was previously linked to another Jennifer, Jennifer Lopez), they wed on June 29, 2005 in a private ceremony held on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
