The fallout continues for comedian Kathy Griffin after she posed for a photo taken by famed photographer Tyler Shields, which showed her posing with the fake and bloodied head of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In addition to being dropped by Squatty Potty for their ad campaign, TMZ reports that news giant CNN has fired Griffin. This means she won't be joining anchor Anderson Cooper on their yearly New Year's Eve Special in 2018, which she's been part of since 2007.
Cooper also lent his voice to the droves of criticism coming in against Griffin's antics, saying, "For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate."
Things are only getting worse for the comedian, who posed with the fake, but still gruesome, severed head of the controversial U.S. President, which reportedly terrified his young son, Barron, who thought his father was dead when he saw the photo on television.
Even though she released an apology Tuesday (May 30) night, the Secret Service is reportedly investigating the incident, which it takes very seriously and as no laughing matter. Chances are, they will seek to interview both Griffin and Shields about the photo.

I was surprised by what Kathy Griffin did and it definitely was not right to do it. But I will really miss her come New Year s Eve party with Anderson Cooper - they were the best. It is a shame that CNN fired her - maybe they should give her a stearn warning.

Ok clearly this is poor taste and bad behavior, seriously what was she thinking? I can see where stars do certain things to be on top of headlines to gain fame, but this clearly is inappropriate, barbaric and malicious, Aside from who Trump is and the things he has done or said, he has children and one being 11 years old. I think CNN reacted appropriately and she should be held accountable, the picture was disgusting and hurtful to Donald Trump and his family and I'm by no means a fan of this president. She could have found a less grotesque and more poignant way to express her dissatisfaction with Trump. Well, good riddance to Kathy Griffin. Even without such gaff, Kathy Griffin was not much of a "News" broadcasting personality to begin with. CNN could do much better with someone fresh.

Kathy Griffin went way too far but there are way too many short memories out there that have forgotten all the times President Obama was burned in effigy or hung from a noose and so many more disgusting ways that people showed their hatred. President Obama also had very young children at the time. It is unfortunate that the children see these things but their Dads knew about that possibility when they ran for the office. It is a free country with the Freedom of Speach bring the #1 thing protected by the Constitution. Yes. Kathy is going to suffer financially for this extreme error in judgment but that is as far as it is likely to go.

I can't believe that not 1 person who was involved in the taking of this posed fake picture thought that this is going to be bad (photographer, assistants, Kathy herself, her assistants or whoever she had there with her at the time, etc. etc.). Out of all the people who were around there wouldn't have said this isn't right or what are the consequences going to be. Kathy is usually out there, and gets away with almost anything. But this time she went too far. This is not comedy. It is someone who has been pushing the boundaries for sometime now and it has caught up to her. An apology is the right step, but we will never forget what she did or the image. She knew exactly what she was doing because she even said something to the effect that she was probably going to get into trouble for doing it. Her apology was not sincere and she only did it once she got wind that she was going to be investigated. Don't know what message she was trying to send but it sure looked like she was condoning beheading! I only saw the blurred photo, but the bit I saw around it was not acceptable. I like Kathy Griffin. After listening to comments on 'The Social' TV show today, I agree that Donald Trump has said many things that he has not apologized for, and he is President. And Kathy has been fired. Yes, she went too far, but kind of a double standard. If Trump did the same, would he be 'let go?'I believe the comments were that all Mexicans are rapists, and that it is OK to grab women by the genitals, that the show stated.

This president publicaly acts in ways previously unheard of for a president . He makes outrageous statements all the time and gets away with it. He's divisive and controversial and more entertainer than politician. What Kathy did seems just part of the circus that the Presidency has become, it seemed to be commensurate to the crap talk coming from the President. If he was more respectful, measured and dignified I would have more sympathy for him and think this was awful. As it is this President it seems like a natural reaction, I'm sure his pronouncements are helpful to the enemies of the United States because they are blatantly racist and extreme.

To the people who say this is horrific, there is worse shown in movies and both are make believe. You some of you watch Game of Thrones, are you traumatized by the violence, including beheadings, in that.
