Let Him Go starring Kevin Costner wins weekend box office

Diane Lane and Kevin Costner in Let Him GoLet Him Go, a new thriller starring Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, took the top spot at the weekend box office after receiving good critical reviews prior to opening. It played in 2,454 locations and debuted with a take of $4.1 million.

The horror movie Come Play, about a monster who uses a lonely little boy’s tablet to invade his home, dropped a spot to second this weekend with estimated earnings of $1.7 million for a two-week total of $5.7 million.

The War with Grandpa starring Robert De Niro and Oakes Fegley hung onto third place in its fifth weekend, earning an additional $1.5 million for a total of $13.4 million.

Honest Thief starring Liam Neeson as a bank robber who wants to put the past behind him, dropped two spots to fourth, taking in an additional $1.1 million for a four-week total of $11.2 million.

Rounding out the top five was Christopher Nolan's Tenet, which earned another $905,000 in its tenth week of release for a domestic total of $54.7 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron

    Please bring back movies. At home is just not the same. If we can walk around in walmart why can't we sit still with a mask on in a theatre?? Doesn't make sense
