Oscars 2019: See complete list of nominees

Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Jan 22, 2019

Full list of Oscar 2019 nominationsThe nominees for the 91st Academy Awards were revealed this morning. The Netflix film Roma by director Alfonso Cuarón and The Favourite by director Yorgos Lanthimos led the pack, each with 10 nominations.

Although Bradley Cooper was left out of the Director category for his movie A Star is Born, the movie still received eight nominations, including Leading Actor for Cooper, Leading Actress for Lady Gaga, and Supporting Actor for Sam Elliott, as well as a Best Picture nod.

Only eight movies made it into the Best Picture category, despite the fact that 10 could be chosen.

Black Panther made history as the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nomination. In total, it earned seven nominations.

With just over a month to go before the ceremony on February 24, this year is proving to be unique in many ways, including the fact that a host has not yet been chosen.

Black Panther was decent, but I'm sorry, it was not Best Pic worthy. I know the Academy is all about diversity, but see Green Book, which made me research what the Green Book was. Interesting to know the history. And see BlackKklansman. Representation is there. If this was about a big budget crazy superhero flick, then why was Infinity War not included for Best Pic? I get it, it made history already, it didn't need to be included in this which it surely will not even come close to winning.

sorry but Bohemian Rhapsody is best actor and movie

We watched "ROMA", what a boring movie. We and spent the entire time trying to figure out what the movie was about. When it ended we said "what?? - is that it?". Glad it wasn't in the theaters, otherwise we would have wasted time and money. We like to watch movies that are at least 3 1/2 stars in ratings, and if they are nominated so that we can critique when we watch the Oscar' Although even this is becoming boring as it is too politicized by some good actors that have no clue about what's happening to the good old USA.

Mario-- Roma played The Toronto International Film Festival and prior to Christmas it appeared in a few theaters in limited engagement in key markets. That's what qualifies it for an Academy Award. It has won The Golden Globe for director, foreign film, Critics Choice Awards and a slew of others. It is a front runner. I'm sorry if you didn't enjoy it. The Academy Awards has always been influenced by politics not just in the Trump era. The films that were nominated belong there but they should have nominated the maximum 10 Best Picture nominees instead of 8. Eighth Grade should have been there and an argument could be made for Crazy Rich Asians. Black Panther was a decent film but not one that strikes me of deserving a Best Picture Oscar. Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't have much of a chance at Best Picture. The reason being is that there are a ton of allegations about sexual misconduct with director Singer who was fired half-way through and wasn't nominated in director. They give this award in tandem usually. Also, critics were down on this movie and only liked Raimi Malek. He could win Best Actor. That's the only major award I see being a 50/50 shot. Tribute used to do a HUGE guess the winners Oscar contest but I haven't seen any info posted just yet on whether they're doing it for 2019.

The only thing that I find really disappointing about these particular Oscar nominations is...no Best Documentary Feature nomination for "Won't You Be My Neighbor". (I, along with many other folks, was eagerly anticipating a nomination for that Award, for that movie.) "Bohemian Rhapsody" getting nominated for Best Picture was a (nice) surprise; same thing with the technical awards it's been nominated for. Somehow, I just knew that Rami Malek would be nominated for Best Actor! I'm also happy to see that "Ready Player One" (my favourite movie of 2018) is nominated for Best Visual Effects! Although, I thought it would get nominated for a few other Awards, such as the Sound ones. Well anyway, being the huge Movie Fan that I am, I'm looking forward to watching the Academy Awards once again! After all, like I always say...The Oscars are to me what the Super Bowl and Grey Cup are to Football Fans!

What a Vile bunch of narcissists it's not enough they get paid millions but they have a self promoted Award show ....for themselves would Love to see a Nuke dropped on Hollyweird

So the Academy liked everything about A STAR IS BORN except its direction?

The Favourite was terrible-2 hrs of my life I’ll never get back. Why are they giving out awards for older movies? (Avengers, Christopher Robin, Black Panther) weren’t they open for awards last year? Yes, black panther was good, but not Oscar worthy. Are they grappling for good movie suggestions? Green book was amazing and they should be up for way more nominations. Crazy Rich Asians was great and it’s a real let down that they weren’t no,I acted for at least set design. And I agree with Lee MAC about the narcissism. I took a trip to the Hollywood walk of fame. What a dissolutionment! The actors don’t earn those stars. They apply, a friend nominates them, then they pay a hefty sum to get a spot and for maintenance of the star. Every time I see an article about someone getting a star now, all I can think is that it wasn’t on their own merit but on their pocket book and popularity

In my opinion a movie shouldn't be allowed to be nominated in both Best Picture and Best Foreign Film categories. Best Foreign Film is the Best Picture category for ...you guessed it; Foreign Films. Movies shouldn't have two chances to win a Best Picture Oscar. This year I'm speaking of Roma, of course, but it should be a rule henceforth. If nominated for both, the producers of a movie should be allowed to pick, then a new nominee should be added to the empty space.
