Very well executed! The details and sophiticated yet subtle history and political messages were spot on. Truly fantastic. (BTW I'm documentary filmmaker with 2 Emmys, so I have some "street cred") Black Panther will be a studied in film schools for a long time. Lighting, costuming, directing all impeccable! Very few Hollywood films put that level of detail and thought into a production. Thank you Ryan Coogler! Plus it's a fun action-packed science fiction/comic flick so you can get your Geek on too!
The best Comic book movie I've every seen.
Gorgeous, well written and performed. One of the best Marvel movies, ever!
Blade was an awesome trilogy. Luke Cage has an edgy feel that draws you in. This has the feel of a convention of out of shape men in suits talking about their products while being half in the bag.
The truth in the superhero world is that at some point, you identify with the hero and believe that in some sense it could be you. The fantasy of a superhero is to be able to boldly stand up, make your voice heard and withstand the assault. This movie leads you to believe you could be an accountant.
I wondered how the newest Avenger character would translate to a starring role. It didn't. Support role at best. The person cast for the role is too stiff and doesn't lead you to believe.
My kids came home and watched Captain America afterwards. They honestly turned and said this is how a superheros movie should be. They were not happy with the latest marvel offering.
If you appreciate craftsmanship like Gone With The Wind, Lord of the Rings, or even the first Matrix, you will find this movie tiresome. It tries to pontificate, then persuade, and eventually gives way to lecturing, but it never entertains. I want to go out for an evening and have a good time and be entertained. This was a waste of my time, money, and effort. The popcorn, though good, was not sufficient in compensating for the defects of the movie.
Comcast owns the movie companies and also bought out Rotten Tomatoes. Don't trust that site for reviews any longer as well.
This movie wishes it were as good as Green Lantern. But alas the concept, the directing, the acting and two and a half hours of blah, blah, blah, make this insufferable. The five star spam bot never speaks of details or gives you insight it just post the same crap on every review. Check the other movies. This site is manipulated by a spam program designed to trick paying customers. Especially, look at coming attractions. Movies that are not even out yet have hundreds of 5 star reviews.
Don't go. It's weak and not worth the money. Wait for Netflix.
This was so not good on so many levels. It was a horrid stereotype for the culture. Living in caves, spears, loin cloth like garb... yet it's side by side with alien level technology...that is kept hidden so they can still get financial assistance. Wow... Section 8, welfare fraud at it's finest. This movie was slooowww and never really gained any momentum. It was about 45 minutes too long. I'm an aging comic fan and didn't see much of the the comic story or character in this version.
I Saw this movie and it had everything. A few jokes, some lessons learned and some harsh reality. I am amused at all the 1 star ratings. Take a look at them, obviously haters, rating the movie a 1 without any backing. Watch the movie, even if you don't to see it in theatre
So funny how you can tell the imposters. This was a great movie. Actually going to see it again tonight with my son, nieces and nephew. Don't be fooled by the haters.
Worth seeing and 2 hours was not too long. African scenes excellent! Sister character fun.
This movie have some art. They really worked hard on every single details from this movie. One star reviews will not take ever and ever the honor from this movie.
I wish they stuck more to the original character, and the original story. This one is terrible.
Whatever happened to the good old days of quality programming like Rocky Horror Picture show or Xanadu? This one wishes it were at least a shadow.
There is some lame spambot posting five star reviews with only one line telling you his vague, non specific review. Pay it no mind. It is an autonomous program designed to promote movies. It is devoid of any real knowledge of the movie, and offers only vague comments that could be applied to almost any movie. Amazing, Fantastic. Best Movie of the year. All these comments indicate it has no actual intellect or ability to understand what it's doing. It's just a dumb program spamming endlessly. If it were a human, pity them.
The ratings on this site are pretty accurate. Same goes for theater goers. I recently attended and more than half the seats were empty. I would say closer to 85% actually. About an hour into the movie, you're asking yourself, should I add to that percentage. The answer is yes. try the next cinema.
I was so looking forward to seeing this, but I sad to say, I regret that optimism. Superhero movies can be the highlights of the year. A good movie can be seen over and over again, and you feel great each time. Not this one. This is a one time is enough movie.
Only 43% think this is a good movie. That puts it into the Ishtar category. Don't mess with the original stories and slap some twisted rewrite onto the screen expecting people to like it. They did it with this one, Wrinkle in Time, even the Narnia chronicles. Stick with the story people liked and you can't go wrong.
I don't think this was very good. At least the Green Lantern had some funny moments and didn't take itself seriously, this one leaves an odd feeling.
As with other hyped movies the public fell all over themselves to see this like the herd animals they are. When you expect to be entertained to a level of quality that isn't fulfilled you feel cheated out of your money and the experience.
“The ratings on this site are pretty accurate. Same goes for theater goers. I recently attended and more than half the seats were empty. I would say closer to 85% actually. About an hour in, you're asking yourself, if you should add to that percentage.” Because you post all day long.
I think this was an amazing movie. The music and the clothes. The courage of a man. I don’t believe any of the negative reviews. They all look the same with a touch of emptiness. Like a taco wiithout the salsa. Like a zombie with not brains.
I watched this movie today and it’s was a beautiful movie. No matter how much an user keeps posting fake reviews he can’t damaged or remove the movie from movie theaters or stores.
was expecting more
Wasted of my time
This movie is AWESOME. From the scenery to the story line to the costumes...it is terrific. Dont believe any review talking about bored kids. They're lying. The ONLY thing TERRIBLE about it is the disgusting things you read here. Some ppl have too much time on their hands and hate in their heart. A 1 star? Really??? It's doing this well...being a 1 star movie? Okay. Uh huh. #shameful #sad
Nope. Don't do it.
Wakanda is the first word uttered in the Lion King. Wishing I were there than watching this.
Meh, go or not go, there is no try.

My kids wanted to leave during the show. The usual droopy eyes looking up at me, telling me, we're bored. Usually after the popcorn runs out. If you can't keep 10 years olds entertained with superheroes, you're not doing it right.
This movie would of bombed at the box office if it were released during the summer or Christmas. There is not enough here to call it a good movie.
I wasted 30 bucks.
Rather shallow story line that tends to go on way too long. Actors are stilted and reciting lines from rote moreso than acting. The screenplay is listless and is two and half hours long. Waiting for Godot had more intrigue and better dialogue. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone over 8, and at that there are qualifiers.
