Anyone with a negative outlook on this movie abviously wasn`t paying attention, or missed the point of the story completely...because i was absolutely rivited by both the plot and of course by the lovely lady Cruz (I hope i didn`t spell that wrong)

Tom is amazing and Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz are amazing looking!
you need to be on your game i loved this movie
Great begining but fizzled at the end. Could have been a great movie except for the last 1/2 hour or so.
AWESOME!!!!!!:>
This is a ridiculous remake of Abre Los Olhos, originally done in Spanish. That movie was a bit over-long (where was the editor when we needed him/her!) but otherwise the Spanish version was good- very thought-provoking. Mr. Cruise should put away his flame-red shopping cart - it is sooo obvious he is out shopping for an Oscar. How about taking some acting lessons and actually earning an Oscar? I will be forever disgusted with him after that awful performance in Magnolia. Of course he cried so bitterly during the death scene. Even he couldn`t stand his own performance!
I bet some as____e is theperson who wrote "Go watch StarWars Geek"
What a waste of two hours!
The only time that i slept during a movie, was when i went for this absolute garbage.
WORST garbage ever!
Stinker. Another example of a lazy Hollywood stealing someone`s story idea and then ruining it. It`s easier to produce a REMAKE than to be creative yourself. Boring, boorish and pretentious film.
If it took someone three days to understand, i suppose the movie had a great effect on their brain waves. which most movies do not. great film!
Regardless of the physical appearance of Tom, Penelope, and Cameron, the film is meant for people who like to think during a movie. This is not recommended for people who need mindless entertainment. I saw this movie before reading all the above reviews and I would disagree with most of them. Although I did not understand the movie myself, I still thought it was clever and well done. I am not the biggest Tom Cruise fan, but I am FIERCELY deterred by bad acting, and this movie did not convey that feeling at all. For those with the desire to think... see it.
I feel that watching a dog urinating would have been more entertaining and feasible than this film. Crowe has delivered hit after hit, but he fails here. As do Cruise and Cruz in their acting abilities... albeit no actor could have salvaged this story.
It was the worst movie I ever saw in my life. After 15 mins of watching I want to go out and ask for my money back or better to ask the cinema to stop showing it and waste the public`s money. Tom Cruise try so hard to act as if he is begging the public to bear with him because he doesn`t know what he is doing nor understand the movie himself. As for Penelope Cruz, she needs to study acting more. I don`t even comprehend how she is allowed to be in a hollywood movie. Her affect is so flat and she looks dumb all through the movie even when she`s without her clothes.
i thought it was smart and witty and a very thought provoking satire. i give it three thumbs up!
it was way to confusing but other than that it was a great movie

I Really Have No Chance To Watch Vanilla Ice. I Like Tom Cruise As An Actor But He Turned Me Off Since He Split Up With Nicole.
I was not impressed! Wasted my time and money!
I really liked it. You had to pay close attention to understand. I found the story- line very creative and Tom Cruise was great.
I really don’t like Tom’s over acting and I really dislike Penelope’s lack of acting skills. However, I really liked this movie. I think it is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. If you understood the story behind Total Recall then you will like Vanilla Sky.
I thnk it was pretty good but it was kinda confusing. This movie had one of the dumbest endings I have ever seen.
Too long, starts out with potential and then goes into an unbelievable story with a poor ending
This movie was the worst I`ve ever seen.
I thought this movie was very very mind blowing, as well as tricky.
Wow....What a waste of money....only went cuz my girl wanted to go... took me 3 days to understand the movie..!!!!!
well, well, well, I dont know what to say, but It was a really good movie, it has a mindblowing scipt which allowes you to think alot different in cruise`s movie life, and our real life. Mind blowing thriller, which makes sure you hhold on to your seat. 5 star movie, cruise!!!
That`s 146 minutes of my life that I`m never going to get back.
Two Cruises are 3 too many.
You don`t have to have a brain to see it, but you do need to enjoy the challenge of having the boundaries of your belief stretched. Went with my best friend; she didn`t like it... I loved it. We both have brains, but she likes her comfortable groove in life... I like to peep up over the sides of the boundaries we are told define us. If you`re the former, save your money. If you`re the latter, spend it and enjoy a good flick!
I was skeptical going in but am certainly glad i did! Abloutly-positivly the most awsome flick i`ve ever seen! Good show!
What a waste of money.
This movie had one of the dumbest endings I have ever seen. It had a lot of potential, but Crowe just let a good thing slip away. Cruise sucked!!!!!
Excellent suspense and social interaction until the "cheezy" L.E. Lucid Dream concept revealed. Must have blown the budget and had to close out filming in a rush. Too bad! Could have been a 4 or 5 star with a bit more imagination and, of course, financing.
A very entertaining film, one of the year`s best. Tom Cruise was great, but Cameron Diaz stole the show.
The story was somewhat convoluted. Which one was Sophia?
Vanilla Sky wasn`t about identifying the stupid and intelligent people among us. Too many people are far too wrapped up in their own control of fate and the things around them. To use the movie`s phrase, "Open Your Eyes", not everything in this world is easily explained or even understood. Open your mind to this movie and the point it tries to make about how simple decisions can make all the difference. It`s sorry to see that a movie that puts down plot lines that sprouted movies like the Matrix, and the Thirteenth floor, is slammed because it doesn`t have enough explosions (like MI2 for our one commenter). Enjoy the movie for what it is
