It's not every day that film school students get to rub shoulders with two of the industry's hottest actors. But for a group of aspiring storytellers in New York City, that's the sort of early holiday gift they were afforded.
According to Page Six, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt gave students from The Bronx's esteemed Ghetto Film School something to celebrate on Tuesday. While the film enthusiasts were perusing a Sony Square interactive exhibit staged as a promotional tool for the upcoming sci-fi movie Passengers -- which Jennifer and Chris headline -- the actors gave them a surprise.
The students were reportedly asked to pose for a mannequin challenge video before the Silver Linings Playbook Oscar winner and Guardians of the Galaxy heartthrob snuck in unannounced. Jennifer, exhibiting her characteristic sense of humor, broke the silence by asking, "What's going on here?"
Predictably, her question stumped the awestruck students. But following a moment of astonishment, the up-and-coming filmmakers erupted with "screams and cheers."
When the mass hysteria settled, a Q&A session was held and several photos were snapped.
The Ghetto Film School is a non-profit founded in 2000 to help develop the next generation of American cinephiles.
Jennifer and Chris' space-set film Passengers, which co-stars Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne, arrives in theaters Dec. 21.
