Surprisingly enjoyable.

User review rating: 4 July 30, 2010

the same heart and soul that the original had and plenty of action to keep the audience entertained. jayden smith proves that he has the charisma and talent of his father. if he keeps it up he may take over as the prominent actor in the smith family.

Almost everything in this movie was predictable, having seen the original movie. That said, it was cute and energetic and all of the kids in the theatre loved it!

User review rating: 5 July 29, 2010

I enjoy it. love Jackie Chan.

User review rating: 3 July 29, 2010

cute. enjoyed Jaden in this, but LOVED Jackie Chan :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I did not expect it to be good but I was pleasantly surprised. There are some really great themes in this movie. Not as much humour as in the first movie but it's still a great watch. You feel for the character. Well done.

The Karate Kid 2010 is better then expected. But it should have been named "The Kung-Fu Kid" since Jackie Chan taught him Chinese Kung-Fu!!!

This Movie was awesome!!

User review rating: 4 July 29, 2010

Very enjoyable. Different than the original, but in a good way.

Almost up to the original so not a disappointing remake. Some criicism of the use of "Karate" in the title but addressed in movie so I don't see it as an issue. Interesting to see the Will Smith legacy.

A very cool revamp of the original, which I grew up with. Jackie Chan was great, as usual.

User review rating: 4 July 29, 2010

good movie, kids loved it

User review rating: 3 July 29, 2010

Better then expected but hard not to try to compare it to the original series.

My 8 year old definitely enjoyed the movie! The story really reminded me of the original.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was a little long but the relationship between Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith really works

This new Karate Kid is, in the end, a winning update of a classic piece of Eighties' film-making.

Great movie better than original

The kids had a lot of fun with this movie, and the boy was so cute and adorable. I found the fight scenes too violent - the kid would have been hospitalized with serious injuries in real life....tut, tut, Hollywood!

User review rating: 1 July 28, 2010

It was OK, but the original was way better.

User review rating: 2 July 28, 2010

A good story, for sure...and much better than I'd thought it would be. But it could have been better. Chan does a great job.

With keeping true to elements from the first movie, they let you know early that this will be a modern day twist on a story that had many of us kung-fu crane kicking peers in the schoolyard in the 80's.

User review rating: 4 July 28, 2010

it was ok like the other karate kid better

User review rating: 3 July 27, 2010

I'm a big Jackie Chan fan, so I have to say I enjoyed it. However, I think that any 80's remake should at least have some sort of awesome cameo to acknowledge its namesake.

i really liked it but the acting was not very good.

User review rating: 1 July 27, 2010

I can't stand that brat that played "The Kid" & I thought his acting was terrible. If I could give this movie no stars I would.

save your money and watch the original. exact same story different people different place

Both my sons are in karate and I saw the movie with them. It was an excellent movie. Sometimes I thought a bit harsh on the bullying side, but once I sat through it and realized they needed to see that to understand it all. Well put together and I enjoyed every minute of it. My boys have a better understanding of bullying and I am so glad they are in a self defense program. Learning that peace controls power.

The original was much better.

User review rating: 5 July 26, 2010

Great family movie, I loved the scenery and philosophy within the film.

User review rating: 5 July 24, 2010

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I loved Jackie Chan and the kid was really good too. It was really harsh in places, these kids were beating the tar out of each other. I think kids will really enjoy and it may make them think when it comes to bullying.

I didn't think little boys like them could hurt people like that.

Shouldn't it be called Kung fu kid? It was still a wonderful movie set in China. The scenery was fantastic.
