I agree with most of the other people`s thoughts of this movie. This is a stylish, intellectual, and beautifully directed drama/action movie. Not your typical "shoot`em up" action flick...this movie has substance. One of my favorites for sure. This is a must see flick....its even worth going twice. AAA++++

I loved this movie, and yet I can`t really describe what it is about it I liked. It is a political commentary, pulling in many events from todays world to show where we might be heading. It is a combination of Orwell`s "1984", the "Phantom of the Opera" and "Fahrenheit 451". I spent a thoroughly enjoyable two hours watching this movie! Somewhat implausible, but who cares!

We really didn`t know what to expect but boy, were we amazed! What an excellent movie! We see so many that it`s really hard to find one that I can walk out saying more than `it`s OK`! Such a compelling story, photography, and just enough action to make it`s point. 5 stars! If you`re just looking for a stupid slasher/no point movie, this is not for you! Will buy this one!

A refreshing change at the movies. Combining elements of too much government involvement, referencing Nazi Germany and the Jews in style and substance, part 1984, "BIG BROTHER" is watching, deep storytelling and sleek action when it hits, a really good investment of your time. Please check it out, involving, well written and acted.

Just an amazing movie/ most people who didnt like it was because of the lack of action...go and rent a bruce lee movie..obviously some of us cant comprehend the great WASHOWSKIS BROTHERS..absolutely great acting from Natalie Portman and H. Weaving, once again you amaze us.

A great film! I would argued that it`s not a "super deep film" but it definable as a worth while message behind it. It was filmed well, acted well, directed well and had a good plot. Not really a action movie, but very entertaining! I would see it again in the threatres and that is saying something.

One of the most astounding movies I have seen in years. The plot was a little confusing at times, but it still managed to keep me interest-ed for the 2 hour and 15 minutes. A five star extravaganza!

As an allegory, as good as "Animal Farm" or "Lord of the Flies," the police reminiscent of "A Clockwork Orange." Good show!

For Hugo Weaving to portray such a vivid and passionate character with a mask that is never once removed, and to do it so well that 99% of the audience is ready to join the fight alongside him, speaks volumes both to the script and directing, and (mostly) to his incredible talent.

i must admit,... it`s a pretty good movie,... i read the ratings off tribute.ca first b/c i hadn`t heard anything about the movie prior but i wasn`t going in with high expectations. the acting from hugo weaving & natalie portman was definitely inspiring. they`re extremely talented. definitely a must-see! i`d even consider buying it!! now that`s serious, haha.

It`s amazing at the number of people who mentioned they did not like this movie b/c it made them "think", or b/c it was unfortunately (in their eyes anyway) more than the basic action movie they so passionately expected. Any movie that forces its` audience to think is worth making, and definately worth watching.

giVe me a break with all the "political messages" and "people just don`t get it". If I want to think I will watch CNN, I go to the theatre to be entertained, not bored to death. This movie sucked.

This is a powerful movie, in that it makes the viewer reason within themselves the course of current events. The question of Liberty and Reason. vs. Tyranny and Conformity. It reminds me of the type of scenario that Rod Sterling`s Outer Limits would project. And yet considering the age and events we find ourselves, it is worth seeing.

to the guy down there: i very much doubt your action sequences in your backyard could match something they do with their eyes closed. to the other dude: it was written by the wachowski brothers (matrix) but not directed by them. Get your facts first. To some person: Yeah, trailer was a bit misleading but when it did have action, it delivered. I say this movie was sophisticated. Why? Simply because the story and message and acting of this film was great. Action seemed to be used just to accent some points in the plot. Now for some insults back: it`s a shame those who didn`t like it couldn`t understand the film. Good thing tribut

the only reason why people did not love this movie is simple...it was beyond 90% of the people who watched it. a mirror image of real problems in today`s government.

Wow! Did I see what I think I saw?? Did I actually see a movie with actual dialogue and an actual point?? Wow, finally, it was nice seeing a movie that had intelligence to it and wasn`t dumbed down for the masses. I was actually expecting a dumbed-down all-out action movie and what I got instead was an intelligent political satire. I don`t believe it!! I`ve never read the graphic novel, and I`m sure the satire is more scathing in it, but I won`t complain, because this movie is a step in the right direction for mainstream Hollywood after countless forgettable "blockbusters" Bring on more like this!

Don`t go for Matrix style/amount of action. This is a thinking persons movie, someone that is`nt dependant on special f/x. Pretty strong message here, don`t let it pass you by. It was great to hear the old Benny Hill theme again! Just remember, absolute power corupts absolute. And I don`t wnt to see this mask at hallo`ween.

Some of the comments so far indicate that a few people just don`t get it.The "Tail realy does Wag the Dog" (look it up).The message is not new.The fact that today`s political issues have similar parallels with this movie is not a coincidence,though it was written in the 80s.The story line draws heavily on the darker side of 20th century history. If the trailer misleads,so be it,but maybe the under 20s might just have to think while being entertained.If you didn`t learn anything from this film,then you weren`t listening.Certainly other films mentioned have delivered similar perspectives. I wouldn`t call it V for Vendetta, I would call V for Very dumb. The action sequences were like something I could do in my backyard. I forget the chick`s name who starred but she needs acting lessons. Anyways thanks for reading my notes.
